The right column has quick results above with Wikipedia links, after which there is a section called “Popular match,” which has a link to the page that published the same image. The other part is called “Similar images” shows the same image in different angles, colours, contexts and more. The “Related Content” section provides the search terms related to the photo.
Google lens has simplified visual search and result
Lens will be more important in the future. But Google’s challenge in the meantime is raising awareness about its broad talent set. The tweaks in Google Lens now aim to simplify visual search works.
The UI you started with hasn’t changed and is still inspired by Google Camera when you take a picture. Start by zooming out the shot so you can see the whole scene.
Google Lens now displays a carousel of actions featured above the sheet below. In this example, it is Copy text, search text, or translate. The old method offers activities at the bottom of the screen that are easy to miss.
You can’t also tap the left FAB to access the filters, an improvement where people are instantly informed of what they do with their catch.
After you make a selection, the same results panel appears below. Additionally you also get a new chip in the viewfinder to zoom back out and “search image” again when it comes to results mostly unchanged, But some of the parts are easier to see than before, with Google rarely showing full-text web search results pages.
When you tap somewhere other than text or highlight a pre-specified object/area of interest, Lens will immediately take you to the ‘Select Part of Image’ UI. You can adjust the crop for a precise search if the Lens is not recognized automatically without entering a specific mode (FAB right) in advance on your desktop.
