Sony Bravia XR-55X90J specifications and features
A 55-inch Ultra-HD (3840*2160-pixel) LED TV from Sony, the XR-55X90J is also equipped with Sony’s Triluminos technology, which is similar to quantum dots used on QLED televisions. As for audio, the HDR options include HLG, HDR10, and Dolby Vision, as well as Dolby Atmos and Dolby Audio.
Additionally, the television supports local dimming, HDMI 2.1, a high refresh rate of 120Hz at University HD resolution, as well as a low-latency mode and variable refresh rate. Speakers are rated for a sound output of 20W.
Powered by Sony’s XR Cognitive Processor, the Sony Bravia XR-55X90J is touted as the world’s first TV with cognitive intelligence. The TV can then detect the focal point of a certain frame and enhance the quality of the picture exactly where it predicts the viewer is going to focus.
Sony claims the picture quality is more natural and pleasing to the eye.
The television runs on the Google TV user interface, which was introduced on the Google Chromecast with Google TV and is the spiritual successor to the stock Android TV interface.
You can also access Google Assistant and Alexa voice assistants through the app, and Google Chromecast has been built-in. You can also access Apple AirPlay 2 and Apple HomeKit for screen mirroring and IoT connectivity, respectively.
Traditional Artificial Intelligence (AI) is capable of detecting and analyzing individual picture elements such as color, contrast, and detail. However, the new processor can assess a series of factors and adjust its performance accordingly.
Furthermore, the Bravia X90J includes XR 4K Upscaling technology, allowing 2K signals to be upscaled close to real 4K quality.
